I have no problem with the story because it is the author choice to make a story however he wants and my own choice to read it, what I can't stand is how some readers keep on dissing Hyesung for his actions but fall head over heels to Dojin even though he also did bad things (〜￣△￣)〜

That flashback was necessary to understand LiHuan better. I personally loved it. I love learning about characters more, what their motivations are and what might make them act a certain way. In this case it makes LiHuan's affection towards YuYang feel even deeper.
