well Doha's lying didnt do any harm Lariette anyway. If he did reveal he's a great priest, they would still have the same relationship regardless

but he lied about curing her disease or even saying she had it in the first place if he didnt know she was aware of it. and even if that was the case he doesnt see her for herself he most likely sees his own mother in her in some twisted way. bottom line doha has unresolved mommy issues and other stuff and is using lariette to cope which is not healthy and thats comin from someone who has used things to cope with trauma in a unhealthy way before

Yes he does. The ML also needs her to cope and heal. But he was open about that. That’s the base of their relationship. He just failed to communicate his intentions and feelings properly. That’s a mistake. His first relationship and communication is hard. Doha on the other hand is withholding information from the FL. And it’s not to benefit her, she thought she was dying. And he has this weird complex going on. He is a walking red flag. He is one of those obsessed mf types. That smile is fake ╮(￣▽￣)╭

if im rememberin correctly not really. he has/had social issues because of his curse/condition so he didnt really know how to talk nor interact with people aside from some servants. lariette helped him with with is condition and get used to socializin with people to a certain point but the difference between him and doha is that he saw lariette for who she was and loved her for herself while doha didnt.
yes arashan and doha both became obsessed with her but on two different ends of the spectrum. arashan became obsessed with her because she was basically a savior for him. she cured his condition and helped him learn to love. he wanted her for herself and wanted her to be safe. doha on the other hand just wanted her because she was “pure” or somethin similar to that and it slowly grew to him seein his mother in her and wantin her to stay with him no matter what. he didnt/doesnt care that she doesnt love him he just wants her to always be with him and thats because of his abandonment issues caused by his mother sellin him to the church because of the amount of his holy power.
also from personal experience people with abandonment issues try to find a partner that reminds them of the person who abandoned them to cope and bein on the end of that fuckin sucks when you realize thats why someone is with you and it doesnt matter if its a platonic or romantic relationship it fuckin sucks and makes you feel like shit
