Even Eclise was like such, the brainwashing made him carry out his betrayal but his obsession and selfish desire to compromise her future was already showcased before Yvonne's return

It was a novel before it was a manhwa then it got adapted to a kdrama. Tbh the kdrama strayed too far from the original story so it's really not that good.
