so basically he got to possess yoon-mister-protagonist guy and then from that memory of how yoon-mister-protagonist guy unsheathed his sword and his technique our mc was able to defeat this fuckin fire ball of hell

Dokja was killed. While dead, he experienced seeing from the protagonist's point of view thus getting his ice resistance skill. Dokja came back to life thanks to the "king" title he gained before dying. He ate the ice pills the apostles (now dead) left to give his attacks an ice boost, and he's now slicing the dragon, trying to kill it before he burns them all to the bones.
He got resurrected because of the effect from "King of No Killing," but before he got resurrected the skill of Omniscient Reader stage 3 activated (more like death or a near-death state is required for 1st person pov to be useable) and thus was in Yoo Joonghyuk's body.
