Yes that's what I also feel, I don't feel the awkwardness, the anger, the longing, etc. as if the friend wasn't gone for 7 years I actually like the reencounter trope but I want it to be more emotional when they meet again.

I actually feel bad when mc couldn't make it into the nationals because of his bad luck. Imagine preparing so much for that shit but only to be ruin by bad luck and mind you his bad luck is not just one time but almost all the time.
