Too early to judge this but here’s my opinion so far:
I can already feel that it’s gonna be basic. I mean like already in the first page and the way they draw male and female is weird. The queen and him are likely the same age? She looks in her 20s, no wrinkles whatsoever and he looks in his 50s, the age he likely is. This is likely foreshadowing many, many flat female characters. You can tell a story is gonna be plain by the way they first introduce a female character. Like add some twist to it, she doesn’t need to look like a model when she’s 50, SHES FIFTY.
They made him a former eunuch, but like will that actually be important to the plot? All we know is that he missed his dick. Will the practices and knowledge he learned while being a eunuch be mentioned? It just feels a little useless if they don’t use it, like he spent 30 years being one.
I was drawn in by the cover art, but the actual art style isn’t amazing. The colours are pretty good, but that’s it. Nothing I haven’t seen before.
