there's something special about this action fantasy; there are no elements of rebirth or transmigration to hold the story up and provide excuses for plot developments. There's just a well-written, no-nonsense mc and a high-stakes storyline that just keeps getting better. This should be the standard of the genre I think

A story that's always moving forward. The art style is clean and dynamic and the characters are all interesting and unique. This story really has a sense of purpose which is more rare than it should be in this genre

there's a lot of human suffering featured in this story which can make it feel bleak. Often I can't get through works like this but the two parallel father - son storylines where they're both working towards finding each other is really interesting and had me hooked. Historical action, quite gory but a great read.

This comes very close to a perfect story. The art is gorgeous and powerful. The mc is one of those characters you're just drawn to and be prepared to shed some tears while reading her story. It's got a long journey, strong themes of family and an interesting historical setting.
