I agree with you, but I do think that you're missing why authors do this. It's not a kink, it's a plot convenience. Discussing consent would establish that both of the characters desire each other which is a problem for 1) an author who wants the characters to fuck before their relationship fully develops and 2) authors who'd find writing open comm......
