I have so many complicated feelings when it comes to official translations. On one hand, in glad that the author is getting it, y'know? Like, I'm super happy and all. On the other, can we just acknowledge that the quality of the translation AND the typesetting and cleaning basically dropped clearly??? And I really cannot stand the American-isation of all the translations ╥﹏╥
How often do you find the word "fuck" in scanlations? Not often at all, because Japanese isn't really a crude language, and translators only use "fuck" when the situation REALLY calls for it. And "I'm going to fuck the shit out of you"??? Dude, that was just DEPRESSING. The whole calling-each-other-by-first-names thing and everything, it's just so—!
FRUSTRATING!! It's a manga! See, my main problem with official translations is that the quality of pretty much everything usually drops rather than getting better, and that's just so SAD. It kinda shows how much the scanlators care about their projects and how much effort they put into it. And the official ones in comparison...
I want more official translations, I do, I really, really do, but I want them to care for the projects they're translating. Sigh.
So true. I could not agree more. A favourite Chinese novel of mine got an official English translation and was published, needless to say, I was extremely disappointed when I got to finally read it, the story's tone changed so much with the westernisation of the language and a lot of things that don't translate well they just outright changed to fit their own (translators/ publishers) tastes rather than sticking to the original mood and meaning of the phrases and situations created by the author.
You find this a lot in officially released manga more than novels though. Harsh words would turn to swear words and even how characters address each other and refer to themselves changes. As if fans are not smart enough to understand the culture.
Guys guys guys... Chill out. You've gotta consider the cultural aspects as well. The Thai people and the Japanese people are different. The author is used to Japanese standards or beauty and whatnot. She didn't mean to attack women with facial hair so much as the unfamiliarity of it all bewildered her. Jesus. That's all.
Okay, it was annoying at first. Asahina, I mean. His actions made hardly any sense. But, like, you quickly come to realise that he's a complete AIRHEAD. He's super frikin' airheaded. He doesn't really have a bad personality, he's legit too much of an airhead.
So of course poor Haruki was appalled as he should have been, and Asahina's vague actions made things super hard for Haruki. Well, it was certainly weird, but, well, Asahina showed a lot of affection, too, in all his confusing actions, and Haruki wasn't blind to it. Not to mention, they were already paired.
But I'm glad that Asahina properly explained how he was already in love with Haruki for however long. He's airheaded, so the fact that he managed to even do that is admirable.
I was disappointed that he raped him, and made him a pair against his will, but, well... Somehow... It sort of fits with him being such an airhead... Doesn't justify it, but... Like how he said "I wanted to lift your burden a little" or something, right? He doesn't think too deeply. He's just. An airhead.
Well, if I have to say it strictly, I would have liked for Haruki to have a more responsible mate, but I think Asahina is trying to learn in his own way. He's clumsy and airheaded.
I get why many people have problems with the ending. But, TBH, I would have been bothered if the ending had been the revenge route, too (~_~;;)
I am a complete sucker for yandere. Not rape, though. The rape was definitely nowhere near OK. I can accept crazy behaviour, but... physical harm and such... Nuh-uh.
I just end up feeling really bad for yandere characters. They're usually good enough to be brilliant and more, but so blinded are they by their emotions that they can't see anything but that one person. I know that the victim has no obligation to, but it would be nice if the victim was kind enough to nurture the yandere into a normal, decent person.
Looking at yandere characters is somehow heartbreaking. I always hope that someone saves them rather than wish them dead or whatever. We don't dive into the back story all the time, but there is usually something that contributed to them turning out so, too.
*kneels* You are my King/Queen (or whatever title you prefer). This manhwa is absolutely gorgeous and ixkdjfkdkf I love it so much and sijckemf I really wanted to buy it but I barely have (bonus coins - I keep completing tasks to get more) coins *sniffles*. This, and My Special Squishy Someone — I've been dying to read these two titles. I absolutely love you, whoever you are, for uploading this amazing piece. Thank you so very much!!! <3<3<3
I'm so sorry about the shit you had to put up with. Thank you so very much for sharing all those chapters. It must have been rather terrifying, too, eh? That they might discover you and you may get reported...
I think that for any scanlator or uploader, that is among the most terrifying aspects of this whole thing. Wanting to encourage others to like this story that you like, and hoping that they would like it enough to want to support the author(s) themself — I understand that feeling very well.
It's really upsetting to see how some rude people behave, and let me thank you again for sharing as many chapters as you did.
Found the link to the English translation of the second chapter~~
I've been searching for BL mangaka tags, and I found someone who was quietly translating in a corner. Here's the link to the drive file I found: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1-2SPA6jWLkcWtsqj3nzpCrKX3Zoz6tw-
Found it on lazydoujinemi.tumblr.com
Apparently a newbie~
Ultimately, it's only a personality - he isn't literally their son. It's kinda like adding structure for convenience-ish. And even if Yuki himself calls Yuuta his kid, he's likely accepted Yuuta as another facet of himself or I don't think he would let Yuuta have sex with Tomohisa. And obviously, Tomohisa is on the same page, because initially he feels messed up over having sex with his "kid" but it's something Yuuta and Yuki both want? Kinda?
And at first, it did kinda sifhejfbf me to see him have sex with someone who didn't have full control of his senses and such, but I think it's just wiser to not think too deeply about that. For all we know, it could have been Yuuta who made the first move or something. I mean the whole stuffing-the-toy-in-his-butt thing... Something definitely could have started from his end. It's iffy ground, but wifjjdfb.
As for the murder angle, it was self defense. The dad literally tried to kill Yuki. Him falling over was an accident, and Yuki removing his shirt was... He tried to kill him. He was stuck with someone who had moments ago tried to kill him. Idk, man, the dad wasn't exactly innocent. Although if the couple turned themselves in, they would definitely suffer for it. And unnecessarily, I think. There would be additional charges of maybe kidnapping and God knows what else. I think those would be unwarranted from the perspective of the alleged victim, Yuki, anyway.
