Yeah he gave up THIS year. but I'm convinced at one point he would've had enough and instead of eating the cake by himself he would've contacted him. My theory is solely based on that you simply don't order a whole cake with a name and all just to have a 0% chance of not contacting the birthday person

with enough pressure i read the damn book (SPOILERS BELOW btw i can barely read japanese so i used context clues and guessed what i couldn’t understand)

after returning nanahisa’s body, tsubaki and nanahisa talk about something (idk). the next day it looks like nanahisa is with a group of delinquents stealing money from other students(?) but nanahisa doesn’t look too happy about it (he could also be forced to follow them out of fear). somehow a teacher assumes tsubaki has done something bad (probably about the situation above?) but nanahisa steps in and the teacher lets it go. after tsubaki and kabuto leave, nanahisa talks with his friends (he’s close to the female students) when suddenly a group delinquents come over and grab nanahisa away, the girls try to step in but the delinquents almost get violent with them so they step back after nanahisa agrees to go with them. one of the girls asks for help from other male classmates passing by but they’re all too scared or sth, she bumps into tsubaki again and asks him to help nanahisa (which he does). tsubaki (with the help of kabuto and ibisu who climbed in from the 2-3 floor window????) beats everyone up and saves nanahisa. after all this ordeal is done tsubaki and kabuto head back home, a very wholesome moment with kabuto thinking “i want to be together forever with tsubaki” the scene pans to ibisu watching them cross the road and suddenly a fucking TRUCK BUSTS OUTTA NOWHERE AND RUNS TSUBAKI OVER and that’s how volume 2 ends i swear to god i’m going crazy
