I think Matthew is injecting the drug that the doctor gave to Matthew to reduce the side effects of the drug or to ease his withdrawal symptoms. I refuse to believe Matthew is just another trashy character. I feel like he's doing everything for Jin. But gotta wait for the next chapter to reach any conclusion.
