As an art school graduate, the artists that can’t handle constructive criticism are so hard to interact with. No creator can survive in a creative career without being able to handle feedback.

Facts, and people that aren’t in creative fields will never understand this. Feedback and help like this is so important for growth.

i get what you're saying but what jia did was definitely NOT feedback. her editing her work and packaging that as a birthday gift??? jia shooting yeonjoo with a gun would have hurt less

I feel sad for Yeonjoo. And it was not a "feedback". Cause Jia doesn't have the maturity yet to give feedback to someone whom she considers her Idol. Also, Yeonjoo understand that she was being unfair to Jia.

Let’s look it another way… Let’s say you friend that never painted suddenly decided to paint, become she was inspired by you. Suddenly she becomes an overnight hit, most people would think “man… do I just suck, was I not meant for this?” and meybe also “good for her, I’m proud of her success” . But one day she gifts you a copy of a painting you did that she “fixed” to be more successful. Honestly this situation sucks, violence is never the answer, but you can understand where she came from.

It actually happened to me lol. So, I can relate xD I could understand Yeonjoo's reaction if Jia was her arch rival or anything or if Jia was being like snobby brat or something showing off her success and looking down on Yeonjoo's work. But she was her best friend and she knew in her heart how was Jia had no negative feelings. I even prepare my friend for the interview in my dream company that she was least bit interested in and I have tried to get in since my college life but didn't got the opportunity unfortunately. She asked me to do her hair and make up lol. Shes doing great! We had some fun memories over that.

My problem is the moment Yeonjoo saw Jia effortlessly put on a Novel and had her big hit she she started acting down (which I get obviously she put in a lot of effort) and Jia had no control over the things that were happening and ITS NOT WRONG FOR JIA TO BE A GENIUS. Also, I am a content writer as well, if say for myself I'm really good at my work. For example, I could easily put out a research paper in a day that doesn't mean I don't have to put the same amount of effort compare to the person who takes 5-6 days. Jia had to come up with the ideas as well. She just does it efficiency than Yeonjoo, Even tho she follows Yeonjoo. You see lot's of people like that. It also never occurs to me Jia was glossing it over to Yeonjoo. She even felt guilty when she shouldn't feel that way at all. Jia was able to correct the things on Yenjoo's work because she is actually the one who gave a fuck about Yenjoo's writing talent and spends time actually reading her work and could figure out the actual problem and the solution. Even when the useless editor couldn't guide Yeonjoo. Although her approach was bad but she still doesn't deserve that treatment. Some people are missing the point Yeonjoo's heart wasn't in the right place for a long time in this relationship and she knows that too with all the pent up frustration she finally burst out like that. (I'm pretty sure Yeonjoo knows if it was Jia in her place Jia wouldn't act like this)

Yenjoo had the option to reflect on herself and try to find out the ways to improve herself. Or she could communicate that she needs a break from Jia or whatever which was understandable she couldn't help her negative feelings. She is the one who decided to stick out going through Jia's success than compare her pathetic self (self portrayed obviously) to Jia. And had the time to think like Jia could make it so easily why couldn't she. In Jia's POV she noticed Yeonjoo stopped writing and moping away, I'm pretty sure she didn't even thought Yeonjoo was in dumps because Jia was successful. If my friend was having a hard time like that obviously I'd try to help if she takes my sincerely the wrong way, sorry to say we weren't good friend to begin with then and she didn't even understood me well. That's what I'd conclude.

But even that has happened to me. A friend of mine literally got into art because of me. Didn’t even hoti art school like me and he is doing sooooo much better than me. And I asked him myself like hey what is your approach how do you do things. Etc etc ITS OKAY. You should know when someone is actually doing something for you with good intentions and when they have malice in their heart, jiah genuinely wants her friends to recognised for her work. SHE EVEN QUIT WRITTING FOR HER. Come on. And now yeonjoo wants to come back into her life acting all nice? And she even deleted that email with a sly look on her face. Face it yeonjoo is jealous and she is the type of person who can’t see her succeed. Period. I don’t know. I don’t like her. It’s just my opinion.

But that is how feedback works lmao
My mentor does paintovers for me. And my friends too if I send them my work paint over my works and tell me of you did this it could be better and if you fixed this it could be better. I don’t mind?? I don’t go around slapping people especially not my close friends for giving me paintovers. lol

yeah ok sure that was feedback but what i meant to say in my previous post was that that was not how you give a proper feedback. like she could have done it in a different setting, you know, and not packaging it as a birthday gift. moreover, yeonjoo didnt ask for feedbacks from jia. you asked for feedbacks from your friends. anyway, its just a shitty move from jia and she herself, telling this story again, is aware of that. hayst idk you hate yeonjoo in the first place
