The amount of people hating on itsuomi just because he wants to do good says a lot about how people will always try to bring other people down no matter what they do. He's not even done talking about all this lmao and people are giving him all sorts of complexes, meh.
The story is cute. They're both sweethearts. Period.
I think some people are expecting this story to be darker or more complicated than what it actually is. But this author only ever does sweet tender green flag stories. She’s not Ai Yazawa. More likely than not she is never going bring up hero or savior complex within the manga.
I think manga and anime fans are so traumatized by the messed up stuff they consumed that they forgot vanilla romance exists. They put a negative spin on everything.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. The author was very clear about what kind of story she was writing. But with all the takes I’ve been seeing it seems like some people either didn’t read that tagline or they’re deliberately choosing to ignore it. I just know when nothing crazy or terrible happens people are going to start calling it boring, bland, etc like they did with Hibi Chouchou.
Also, the manga shoujo scene is so inundated with red flag scenarios that people just jump at thinking so-and-so is gonna happen. Totally forgetting that in real life, overdramatic shit rarely happens. IRL, tsunderes aren't cute. IRL, communication is a big part of relationships and both parties can be mature enough to not be hesitant in talking things out. We are being shown a healthy relationship and they demand something else. There's so many of red flags already out there. If they want that kind of drama, they should go somewhere else.
His appearance kinda broke my heart. :(
