As a gay guy, yaoi is literally made for the consumption of women primarily. And that's not a bad thing. Gei Comics/Bara are made for the consumption of gay men primarily.
It's not a big deal.
Edit: this isn't to say those outside of these groups can't consume these medias, just that they are the primary target audience for marketing and such
