No offense (which indicates a statement that may offend), the original wasn't even all that for y'all to be complaining about the new, VERY pretty art.
In the first chapter alone in the original, you can see the inconsistency and the stiffness. The FL never, ever looked like the same person. The only thing I may agree on is that the ML in the original had sharper art and features—but that may change in the future, when he goes through that "growth spurt". Either way, the FL and everyone else look so much better in this version, are you kidding? This is so much better, especially for the story.
Anyone can tell that the new art is pretty
Ofc the old version didn't feel as polished when it came to art style but that's not why ppl have a pb with it. They're all mostly expressionless and just pretty looking (especially the FL).
It's the same with a villain who has no character depth but is HOT.
Well, the remake is pretty but it makes it kinda bland at the same time.
And the pacing is better too. As someone who never read as I though it was dropped 4ever, I was very confused when I read the 1st version like it was just as generic as this one is and the pacing was nothing to be desired. Even though I like the OG protagonist personality, it was nothing unique; cold and distant MC was popular back then I.g, Eric Mizelian<3, Penelope♡, Charlize and even Navier
This could have been decent if only for a few changes:
1. Usually, i dont mind sex work but its like the author made with without any consideration of stds and stuff? The uke has sex with randos in alleyways? He gives blowjobs to randows in alleyways who c*m all over him and in him? And the seme just doesnt wrap it up. Crazy. It was so gross seeing c*m everywhere, especially after the uke got done with a rando. Like, i get it—the uke cant even afford food or a place to live, how can he afford condoms? But thats crazy.
2. The plot isnt plotting. Who punishes a sex worker with sex to "teach them a lesson"? In what universe does that make sense? Just say you wanted to fuck, but you didnt want anybody else to.
When the story ended, i hated it cause i felt like the uke didnt deserve In-Ho, and wanted In-Ho with Woojin (even though they have absolutely no chemistry) but the side stories kinda redeem it (which is such a change, considering how i hated it and left a whole scathing review lmao). I've read worse, and i dont hate this. Now, i want to see the woojin and yitae's story.
Edit: i reread it and it actually does not redeem it all that much, in fact, it may make it worse lmfao. Rereading it was just so unejoyable to me and im so upset, because i remember i used to like this story so much. Next time, ill just stick to the side stories.
