By the way the last ch ended it seems more like Ai was using Makoto. It's like manipulating a depressed person into believing they are worthless until they feel as if the only thing they have to live for is you. Everyone is using someone and Ai has been using Everyone apparently.

Now don’t act like ai is the worst wdym. He saved yuu so many times and warned him so many times to not get involved. He even risked getting in trouble looking like a traitor in front of the gang so he could save yuu. Ai also is partly a victim if you completely forgot about the fact that technically makoto raped him multiple times before he even met Betty/roku. Ai just usually can’t go against what makoto wishes and asks for.

Both of them are just fucked up like the rest, there are no exceptions in this manga everyone is selfish in their own ways they don't srsly give a fuck about other people as long as they achieve what they want. You might say Ai is not the worst but he's just as worst as the rest, he's a manipulative sociopath, deluding himself that he has to do anything he asked him to because he pity him. Even though deep inside he just wants makoto to only rely on him and only him.

My point was that Ai is not the very worst person there. You can think that he’s just as bad as everyone else though. What he wants only has to do with makoto. Whatever issues or messed up problems they have are between them. He’s doesn’t really care for Betty or Yuu or anyone else. He didn’t want them to purposefully get hurt nor be involved with them at all, the only thing he cares about is Yuu. I mostly blame the person who purposefully caused the most misfortune/harm to others due to their selfishness: makoto.

Ai may want Makoto all to himself but I don’t really remember Ai ever actively trying to make it so that Makoto is left alone. Everyone left Makoto by their own choice and the only person who won’t leave and is still by his side is Ai- and I guess Ai is happy about that result. He has that bystander effect where he doesn’t do anything and just lets stuff happen (not all the time), and everyone else chooses to leave Makoto on their own. Ai may very well be twisted on the inside for being happy with that result, but on the outside hasn’t done any action for those things to happen to makoto.
