Ok so I was reading the novel and looking at the untranslated chapters... and it irks me how the princess just lives happily ever after with her fiancé who accepts all parts of her (dressing and acting 'like a boy'). They also made the princess's fiance better looking, in the novel he was obviously older looking with a beard but in the manga, he barely looked his age and was handsome i know it isn't supposed to be that serious and a comedic telling of unfortunate circumstances, but still JUSTICE FOR NICOLE!!!
Also one of the reasons the ML was being distant, more that just him being stupid and ignorant, was apparently because he heard the maids at the FL's house talking about how they don't see their partners often but that makes the partners cool and hardworking, and the ML (who was early teens or preteen) decided he wanted to be a cool and quiet partner who works hard, so he canceled appointments with Nicole.
