She saves a boy who was injured on the front lines and he turns out to be the stories male lead. He lives with them as well and they grow up as childhood friends and the duke adopts her as his daughter. Time passes and now they are all in the capital. The ml is recognized for his achievement in slaying a dragon and even though he was an illegitimate child the king reinstates him as a prince (though he previously tried to have him killed and did have his mom killed).
ML has fallen HARD for mc even though he is supposed to meet his FL soon.
