Although my heart is broken by this update, I can actually understand and sympathize w why the uke decided to cut the string. Even tho he was beginning to feel something for the seme, he wanted to fall in love w him on his own accord. He didn't want to be "in love" because of the string, and he also didn't want the seme to only be with him because the string is tying them together. Although i've always found the red strings of fate to be super romantic, I think, ultimately, the most romantic gesture is if the two characters decide to choose to love each other no matter if they are "destined" to love each other or not
