Well fuck, I am dissapointed with the end of the manga. It was so anticlimaxing even though I didn't understand a thing. I'll probably drop this because whatever, the uke is just horrible and I feel bad for *not gonna spoil*.

I like Chika too, but i think that is only because of the most recent chapter. I think people didn't like Chika because he came across as a sexfriend rather than a lover, a sexfriend who people could see would get in the way of Hotaka and Masato's growing affections. The first 2 chapters painted Chika a certain way, but Masato was just shown to have an increasing amount of interest in Hotaka with Hotaka possibly reciprocating so it's like sexfriendXMC vs. LoveXMC. The sexfriend got annoying to some, especially once the rape was thrown in there. Yes, i realize he was able to just roll with it, but he had been telling Chika no and was tied up in response. He then continued to say no, but Chika continued anyway, there was no indicator that showed Hotaka was personally interested in the sex, he just reacted physically. He was angry after too, like i said it seemed like he just took it all in stride rather than that he was okay with it.
Well yeah, I agree it was a stupid move that Chika made and I was so glad it didn't actually turn into an actual rape and that they were interrupted. But I kinda get the guy. Not for the rape but the approach he took - having no other choice but to propose to him being sex friends rather than saying to him from the start that he likes him.
What I really hate about the whole thing is how the uke is indecisive, and easy going. He saw were things were going and even after Chika confessed, he didn't say a thing. He should have put an end to it rather than giving the poor guy false hope.
I can agree with you in that Chika's situation is pitiful, but i can't agree with your view on Hotaka, you have to keep in mind that Hotaka is only dating Chika because Chika was pushy and Hotaka went along with it. You can't be mad at Hotaka for not being proactive in the relationship when it's not something he wanted, or wants really, and when hes basically being pressured into it. Look at it from Hotaka's point of view, he was just living life when his friend pressured him into a sex friendship and now said friend is getting jealous over his other relationships and tying him up for sex. Also, it was rape, he inserted his fingers into his ass. That's penetration. No straight guy could be prepared to have something put in his ass for the 1st time, that's why he kept saying no. But Chika decided to tie him up so he couldn't resist.
Ok, my bad, I don't remember what exactly happened, my memory is bad. If he did insert his finger in, then okay, it was rape.
What I wanted to say is that the uke could refuse him. I get he was pressured by Chika but he could have just say no to him. This whole situation is a complete mess. He had more than one chance to stop their relationship but the still continued it. So I don't get why people are defending the uke so much, when he could clearly say no to Chika and that would be the end.
Hotaka explained the answer to your question in the manga, he views Chika as a good friend and isn't necessarily against their fwb relationship. He doesn't want to break it up because he doesn't want to make things awkward with his friend. As far as him knowingly hurting Chika's feelings by continuing to stay in the relationship despite knowing Chika's feelings, you have to remember that Hotaka is only JUST NOW finding out about them. Chika first pseudo-confessed during the rape scene when he said "do you really think i'd be doing this to someone i don't have feelings for"? Until then Chika had made the situation out to be a very casual fwb situation to Hotaka. Hotaka JUST realized Chika has feelings for him in ch 3, it's what the point of ch 3 is. You know what Hotaka does when he realizes? He really thinks about Chika and how he has to start "taking him seriously" (quote from Hotaka) and decides to have sex with Chika, of his own accord despite his fears up till now of anal. It's after the sex that Chika's mom calls and reminds Hotaka that there is another issue, that being that Chika is successful and expected to produce an heir, which is why he says "i forgot the time limit".
