more than half or the army head to some location they think will be the final fight, leaving the castle with just a fraction of men to protect their supplies, healers and such. ofc it’s a trap and they get ambushed. maxi, while fleeing, bc that were riftans orders to her bodyguards (danger = run the fuck away), sees a big boulder on a mountain that would kill most of the enemies. she and her bdgs get surrounded by trolls, she gets attacked by a goblin, then depletes all her mana from trying to cut the boulder down by casting barriers repeatedly. miscarriages- loses a shit ton of blood and almost dies. but she doesnt even know shes preggo let alone that she miscarried. then goes back to her father bc of guilt of making riftan worry? i dont remember but that boomer reveals what happened in a real shitty way and proceeds to lock her up and bully her again. then there’s so much more shit and their relationship keeps being shit who am i kidding.
