Positives and negatives so far (imo)
Positives:
- The shading is really interesting, I like the mix of gray and skin tone, it gives it a unique look.
-The design of the two main characters is pretty cool
- Now and then, some really cool panels pop up, like the one with Won replacing the dead student in the dream sequence
- The brown haired friend also an interesting character. I can't wait for him to go apeshit again. I kind of wish he was the main love interest, but he's not tall and ripped so there's no chance of that happening
Negatives:
-Shrinkwrap abs. I hate looking at them, can't we as a civilization move past this? Ripped people don't look like this, even people who specifically work out for sexy abs don't look like this. It makes everyone look like Liefeld's captain America
- The pacing is all wrong. Like think about it, what happened in this chapter? What new information did we learn? How did the story progress? I guess they made eye contact, which is something, but c'mon. The author already established that the mc doesn't like Won, why waste so many panels just on the mc looking angry
- Won is kind of generic. I do like that he's genuinely just a horrible person that wants to see the mc suffer, instead of pulling the "I'm never going to let anyone hurt you (by hurting you)". The manhwa has been hyping up how weird and powerful he is for 11 chapters now without showing anything, so if he's not Zombie Jesus or something, I'll be pissed
- Repetitive dialog. "Stay in my room, you'll be safe!" "No, I won't! And I don't like you!""Stay in my room, you'll be safe!" "No, I won't! And I don't like you!""Stay in my room, you'll be safe!" "No, I won't! And I don't like you!" WE KNOW, YOU'VE ESTABLISHED THAT ALREADY
-The tone is weird? On one hand, it tries to be like killing stalking, in the way that it doesn't pretend to care about morality. It's a story about a man being horrible and that's what you're getting. On the other hand, the way it constantly draw attention to mc's red flustered chest makes it feel like generic smut. I guess since the series is new, you can't really know what they're going for yet. I wonder if they're going to fall in love at some point, or if it's going to be 60 chapters of toxic smut with other people trying to get in the way and ending with murder. Idk.
- Actually back to the sex scenes, we all feel secondhand pain when he's bleeding out of his ass right? So I automatically assumed that those panels were there to show that it isn't meant to be taken as sexy, but as horrific. But, there are so many bleeding anuses, that it's just a kink of this specific manhwa right? Like if you wanted to convey that it's painful, one panel of it, or maybe even just some blood on the ground would do. This is not me judging it, it'd be silly to judge this sort of story on morality, but this just another example of the tone being unclear.
Overall, there are better things to read on here I think, even if you enjoy some darker stuff
