Genuine question why do people like this story so much? I'm just curious
Hmmmm
I recognize that this relationship is genuinely so fucked up on many levels and operates in an unhealthy manner, but that’s also the appeal of it. Compared to some other “toxic” stories I’ve read, this one feels intriguing because of euihyun’s complicated feelings towards his situation and there’s also his cute kid brother. Though this doesn’t rectify everything, taeju losing his mind towards the end of s2 was pretty satisfying.
Those are just my two cents
it has well written characters and plot, honestly. like no matter what the characters do- good, bad, even terrible things- they make sense ? like plot-wise ? as in, i feel like the writing and pacing flows naturally. a lot of these type of manga just use shock value and nonsense plot (*cough* jinx *cough*), but here the character arcs are very well written. yes, taeju is terrible, but he's not made out to be a good person anyway. and his personality fits in his own life, it's not just people tolerating a terrible person in some regular ass setting, he's literally a thug. and above that, he's been given more personality and character growth. very rare for this venre of manhwa to have, usually it's just "he had a sad childhood and traumatic past, cut him some slack :(". and most importantly, the mc (+ brother) is a very compelling character to me.
i personally think that people will enjoy stories a lot more if they learn how to seperate themselves from the narrative. it's ok to not like something or find it distasteful even, but i see so many acting like these characters are real and it's just ?? you know he only went through that in our imaginations, right ??? like the author writes certain things for a reason, there's plot and there's character arcs, and everything isn't black and white. sometimes characters just do bad things, and that's that.
we should just read and view it if it's entertaining, leave if not. simple as that.
Wow.. you really.. have a good view. Yes i totally agree.. the plot wasn't too fast and not all over the place. Pacing was great to the point i can totally feel the emotion in the drawing. It give me time to grieve and all. Plus good pacing on character development and not just abruptly makes him a good person and all since he was a thug to begin with.
I know the straight dude is trying to nice and considering but I still don't like him, plus he still homophobic in my eyes
Fr he's going to need to take some serious accountability to even be an option to be the ukes potential romantic partner when he realizes he's in love with him. Probably won't happen but we can hope lol
