Yup this is right. Also even when all of the Emperor's wives are out of the picture their romance is still pretty angsty. The moment you thought there's actually no more obstacles another one just springs up from out of nowhere. But the whole development is good and the ending is good too.

honestly it's been a long time since i liked a webtoon this much- their manner of speech is just amazing and fits the time period so well, and the villain is actually smart and cunning.
there's a difference between miscommunication and no communication- the ml doesn't even try to listen to the fl. he didn't even have some sort of redemption arc (which imo doesn't really justify or erase everything a person did). forgiving isn't forgetting~
i hope the fl finds someone that will genuinely help her and care for her, it doesn't even have to be a lover.
