I try to avoid memorization whenever possible because I have a terrible memory. Instead, I usually make sure I can reword everything that's going to be on the test in words that a five year old would know. It can feel intimidating if someone likes you way more than you like them, even in platonic relationships. I say this as a woman who has scared people off by being too affectionate and clingy.
