I mean, I don't want her to die, but I swear Gunther killed her in the novel. Like she got cut into a hundred pieces an hour before the agreed-upon time because Gunther "got bored", and that's what the MC found when he opened the little coffin. Seeing her body like that made the MC go on a rampage to take down the leaders of the districts and cleanse the city. But I guess that was considered unnecessarily cruel and gruesome for the adaptation?
