Okay, so I've been noticing this trope lately where the MC of a spin off novel is the usually the love interest in the prequel manga but was rejected. While that's all fine and good the problem is these spin-off MCs tried to rape the love interest. (ex. Love Nest, MC from S+ Rush and now this manga too)
Suddenly when a spin off manga for these characters is made about them we're supposed to forget those attempted rape scenes and just let the MC reminisce on his past love or sad past which helps them show true depth of their characters.
While I do like depth in character I also find that it sort of takes away from their past wrong actions.
Don't get me wrong I usually love the spin-offs the stories of love rivals like those listed above, as I usually find their stories to be way more interesting than the original manga (plus I like how the MC in the spin-off usually become they become Ukes in their relationships) but my excitement wanes when I think of their past actions. But to be fair to some spin-off MCs I have read the S+ Rush MC clearly apologize and receive forgiveness and Masato from Love in Nest clearing the air with Itou.
So in closing, to mangakas, if you're going to use characters later for a spin-off think carefully of their present actions in your prequel series.
Wow. I just binged read all 87 chapter available today, did not regret it at all. I honestly thought these two characters were going to be trash. The MC being poor and submissive uke character while the ML would be the cold rich raping seme. But I was wrong and so glad to wrong. I didn't expect character growth for either of them. For Chu (MC) to learn to be self-sufficient and Ziming to learn to love things other than his work. I really enjoyed watching their budding relationship bloom and fight currents.
Can I say I just adore this manga's art. I notice that a lot of light novel turned manga (both shounen and shoujo) have the same basic art style. The only exception I can think of is destruction flag otome.
I also just love Irene she's so lovely and proud. I just love it when I have an affection for the main character it makes me enjoy a manga a whole lot more. (●'◡'●)ノ
He's such a DILF.
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
