the story is interesting but there are so many plots and wholes......so luci and estelle are related, and Luci's father loves her but doesn't really love her, and zed/jed/the good duke or whatever he's called knew estelle from before, and khalid had some reason in betraying his country bcs there was a tyrant ruling it and estelle didn't notice that and she only cared about having been recognized thus her undying loyalty and she kinda went to war for a tyrant king which makes her (as the story says) foolish, but then again she really had no choice cos the king wouldn't have listened to her anyway or he could have killed her but at the same time khalid also killed her bcs he was obsessed with her and when she was reborn she wanted to take revenge on khalid but she didn't really work for it??? like she was hoping the opportunity would present itself eventually?? and i guess the power struggle between the crown prince and the blonde prince was a way to make estelle/luci realize that while her life was all about serving her country, she didn't really cared for the political situation in it but it seems like a big part of the plot just to make her realize that??? and she not only has no intention of telling the duke that she's estelle but she's renouncing to herself by saying that estelle won't exist anymore bcs she's luci now but the whole plot about the star falling an all of that was that she has returned??? also being so angry at khalid (which is very valid, obvsly) and reacting to his provocations when khalid himself said that the only thing he doesn't want is for her to ignore him??? like, i know you're furious but he himself told you what he dreads the most and the thing that would hurt him most is the thing that less effort takes you (ignore him). also i think that they presented the sitara?? knights at the beginning (the old comrades of estelle and khalid) then forgot about them cos i was thinking about them for like 70 chapters and they just didn't appear and i am grateful to the translator(s) for i really can't understand some parts....the change the way the names are written and some deeper parts of the convos can't the deciphered lolol. anyway
Well, now that she's come to realize that her decisions as a commander brought suffering to her people and that Khalid's betrayal ended up being good for their country she lost her motivation to get revenge. I think that's why she thought it was time to let her past self go and accept living as Luci. Her fellow knights of sitora are probably gonna be back in the next few chapters. As Luci is an easy and valuable target they'd probably go after her. â•®( ̄▽ ̄)â•
It'd be kinda funny sight to see. Anyway, the plot is thickening. Little by little the past is revealing itself and Luci is moving on. If she doesn't, then there's no future to Zed x Luci
when did y'all become so sure he really likes her?? as a genuine question. cos to me, there wasn't really a big change in attitude?? and he could be lying for all i know??? and i guess some things he says happen in flashbacks but idk.....i really don't know how to feel??? I didn't find myself thinking differently about kirishima?? i was suspicious of him from the beginning and still am?? what happened for you all to be so sure he's really smitten?? genuine question
Personally I always took his word for
It. The very first time she faked gave him her kidney and he said he loved her, I believed him. I think that was chapter 1. So every action he made and his reactions to her were legit driven by love to me. Chapter 35.2 only confirmed what I already believed.
Also Unlike some readers, I don’t believe that there’s something wrong or false about being in love with one person and sleeping with other people. Especially not when the person you’re in love with doesn’t reciprocate your feelings. It only becomes wrong when the two are committed to each other, which they now are and he hasn’t been with anyone else since.
I mean, I believe people had their doubts because it seemed very rushed and obsessive from 0-100. Plus, considering his life/behaviour, he didn't seem like the type of person to actually truly love someone, on top of him seeming simply intrigued and humoured by her actions in the beginning. He is a killer, and a very cynical one at that, after all, with no real relationships nor commitment in his life. It's very understandable that people had/has their doubts about him and his true intentions/depth of his feelings - not at all only regarding the sleeping around.
Oh I’m not debating any of that.
@macarrones33 asked how we knew his feelings for her were real, so I only answered for myself. All I’m saying is I took his word at face value. And I mentioned the cheating because that’s the only point I’ve seen people who still dislike him bring up. Got all my feelings on the matter out.
............. don't even start with the "he's changed!" "he's gotten better!"..............GIRL.... THAT'S BASIC HUMAN DECENCY......i mean i know it's just fiction but let's stop praising men for the bare minimum.....at this point he's hurt dan so much i wouldn't be able to sincerely wish they got together.....i mean i KNOW they're gonna get together, that's the whole point but personally I can't be happy about it lol...
also, am i the one a bit uncomfy about the fact that jaekyung was wasted and dan slept with him anyway??? maybe it's just me cos the nutrition shake chapter also made me deeply uncomfortable and this is kinda the same but with their roles reversed
Ikr? Is not being negative, but honestly he hasn't done anything for us to consider him going into the path of redemption. Also, just a reminder that a couple of chapters ago he poured a drink on Dan like -_- .. he's been the same, author hasn't made him change his attitude at all.. not yet at last.. also if this is her trying to show us a different Jaekyung, uh no.. there needs to be a bigger effort and some plot to the redemption arc :/ & for him to develop some emotions towards Dan..
RIGHT?!?!? and the fact that the character of dan itself tells us this as well......the way he's so surprised about jk asking for CONSENT!!!???? how do you see a guy asking for consent once after raping dan several times and think he's suddenly a green flag??? i'm flabbergasted. also people think that the moment he starts liking dan or realizes he likes dan he's gonna treat him better ........ honestly I don't think so..... i think he's gonna be the same or at least not that much better, just in a formal relationship
Honestly, same, I don't think that even when he falls for Dan he's going to be any different lol and for a while I've also thought of how awkward is going to be seeing him with a different attitude lol but welp.. they are meant to be that's the whole plot, UNLESS the happy ending has a plot twist where Dan realizes he's better off without him but of course not xd
this smells so bad and i hate the duke already, since the first time i saw him. on the other hand i love kyle, he's so nice......but he's waiting too long. i saw a couple comments talking about the novel. could someone please spoil me??? does she end up with anyone? the big events that happen?? I'm thinking about dropping this bcs i hate the duke but I'm also curious enough to read the novel lmao. so can someone please spoil me so I'll know what to do??
Spoiler:
This is all second-hand information that I also got from reading the comments here, and it seems like the novel is well written and a good story, HOWEVER it's extremely toxic and rough to read with huge amount of angst. If you want a feel-good story, THIS ISN'T IT. The main couple (FL + Duke) will get together in the end, but don't expect character development from him, apparently he gets almost worse towards the end. Then suddenly she has a change of heart (after trying to get away from him for almost all throughout the story) and the happy end(?)
guys I'm autistic and I can't understand reactions sometimes. can someone explain to me why haejoon went out of the room when eunyung reacted that way about the ghost talk in chap 234?? i love this webtoon, the story, the art style, and the complexity of the characters but sometimes I can't seem to understand them or their actions
this is interesting because the author created a great couple who like each other, communicate, are on the same page, etc.,.... but the problem they're gonna face isn't something about them as people but a real world problem such as homophobia and lgbtq rights. and we as an audience understand it objectively. this (i think) won't transform into "character A treated character B terribly i hope karma comes back to bite him in the ass!". we notice the hesitation of the dad to make it official bcs, not only he has recently discovered he is not straight, he also recently moved to a much rural area (which are usually less accepting) and he is a DAD. he's now not living just for himself but he has to think about how any personal life decision he takes will affect his daughter
last chapter was so beautiful
