Unfortunately, it's really just trying to add that "romance" into the story which kinda ruins the story line... not to mention, a love square??? really??? Also, the sequence of events is too fast, I'd like to see more of what they're actually learning besides the "tests" ... But there's not much world building... Even the character development is absolutely meh.
So, a fast pace, but poor world and character building, and add to that the forced relationship dilemma... the story line is becoming a real mess.
I can see it's potential, this is actually supposed to be great, and I mean that honestly, this is supposed to be superbly great... it's just that those three points is ruining this greatness.
I tried reading this part in the novel since I can't wait... but... I'm actually superbly lost. It seems like the web novel's story is veeeerrrryyyyy different from the manga.... so I wanna ask those who read the novel before I did... Where should I start reading???
It's 2020...I've read, watched, and heard all about this kinda story line... Chrono Crusade, Owari no Seraph... I could go on.

But keep in mind in the beginning he was the type of person that looks down on people and spike third drink just so he get what he want despicable and disgusting. In reality you would get as far away from a person like that as possible so be careful what you wish for.
