The whole issue with him not leaving is that he was traumatized even before meeting them. Him adapting to the abuse is the only thing he knows to do. It’s so sad honestly , he has never known happiness.

I don't know if the artist wrote the story as well, but the palace of Bardo, the other story by the same artist, has the same issues. I'm very annoyed by the art as well, it's almost completely done by 3D models, don't know if there's any ai envolved. Almost all artists use some kind of 3D resources, or pre-made props, but here everything looks fake and forced, including the plot.
