this manga was absolute shit and had the worst attempt at representation ive ever witnessed. why did the fujo think she was oppressed for fetishizing mlm and act like a pussy instead of being concerned about the mc's horrifying struggles. why was the mc being groomed treated like normal and why was the only other gay representation other than the child and mc a pedophile who was into his son. dont read this if youre expecting bare minimum decency, youll recieve a shitty half assed story with unrealistic characters that will only make you want to stab every fujoshi fifty times in their stupid faces. it does nothing but harm mlm/nblm. i genuinely hope the authors of this tone deaf manga and everyone who liked it suffer unrelenting pain for the rest of their pathetic lives.

the shotacon undertones and mockery of suicidal ideation and mental illness rampant in this manhwa is disturbing. the author sells nsfw of the underage characters and is a shotacon themself. i thought this manhwa had so much potential but its ended up being reduced to problematic garbage.

To be honest, it almost feels as if the author only had enough story for one season. In season 1 Hooni went from being lonely and constantly suicidal to having friends, trying to be better at school, trying to not harm himself and in the end, he realized that he didn't want to die. Season 2 is mostly about other characters and if he gets the spotlight he is often either stuck in ridiculous situations or gets exploited on the internet. I even lost a little bit of respect for Soorim here considering that it has been a month and he apparently hasn't even talked to Hooni about it.
However, I still have hope. I mean in the story about the author neighbor, his webtoon became less popular because it didn't develop. Which is similar to what we're seeing right now (another social media arc about Hooni being taken advantage of and almost no development for him since the season has started). Also, in the current chapter, it's pointed out that many old fans have left because of the sexualized content, which again, is kind of what has been happening with Suicide Boy as well. And looking at the preview pictures for the upcoming (longer) arc it seems to be a rather emotional story (I could be completely wrong though).
Or maybe I'm just being delusional here and the author has no self-awarness and this is going to be nothing but fan service, suicide-based slap stick comedy and stories about characters I barely care about.

idk... in my opinion its just fiction. Hooni does not exist, yes these things do happen and that why we feel so bad for him, we cant do anything abt it. Just like yaoi has a lot of rape, it does happen, there is a debate about it, but in-again- in the end of the day none of its real.

I wish there was a like button for replies because I agree with EVERYTHING said here. It's really sad too, I liked Season 1 and wanted to see his future development but the static plot and sexualizations is throwing me off. It's like he never learns or changes, and every arc is him trying something new (while being too unaware!) and being punished for trying, or being an idiot/ embarrassing himself and he is back at (or below) square one. No development, really...

I thought this would be more like a darker and gender bent Watamote, a manga about a girl who also struggles socially and is a loner but eventually (and slowly) develops and makes friends. But no, that all seemed to happen in season 1, and there's nothing much left after... I fell off after the sterilization arc because I don't care for the side characters. Maybe if, like watamote, we got to care and learn about them from the main characters eyes first to gauge interest then it'd work to shift the story to them, but no I honestly don't care the neighbor humiliating him for their comic or the girl with the crush on him (although she seems precious from last time I read...)

BUT I also have hope! Maybe it'll pull through and prove us wrong with a good upcoming arc because as you said, if this is truly about the author's neighbor, maybe this is all planned. But if not, I'll be so disappointed ...

Yeah, I thought this would be more something along the line of Watamote as well. I hope the upcoming arcs will make the side characters a little bit more interesting but we'll have to wait and see.
I still hope that the woman who recognized him on the street will eventually appear again and offer to take him in. We could spend at least one season on Hooni trying to adjust to his new found family. At least like this we could go back to character development again instead of watching him getting stuck in a makeshift bathtub.

i used to identify heavily with hooni maybe thats why it disgusts me so much when hes sexualized. but the thing about rape... yikes wtf. its not real but you shouldnt normalize that nasty shit even in fiction, dont defend it.
