But, I still can’t believe he has actually managed to take everything from her. Now be it real love or further obsession he has literally become her only light. It makes me feel so bad for Annette. Even if the story gave her the opportunity to leave… what’s left for her? Barren, divorced, a national pariah still, orphaned and now maimed? Man… I guess, writer wants to make her suffer as much as ML, still it doesn’t sit well with me
What do you need enemies for if you have this family and partner. It’s like they are all spoiled teenagers. I like the story but the MC is the only normal person here, the rest are all pieces of garbage somewhat…
They aren’t each other’s worlds, both have close friends and other people to lean on. It’s just so real and nice to see a romance in manga where there’s more nuance to a relationship and where there’s space for everyone. Shima’s grown so much in a year, I love him so much.
But this kind of misunderstanding almost feels too real. Normally, they don’t say the stupidest very important details that are obvious to anyone with a brain, although here there’s some push and pull specially from mc, since he doesn’t feel entitled to speak his mind at all.
What do I mean by this? The things mc is not asking the ml are things I also wouldn’t ask if I was in his place: “what’s up with your family”, “what’s up with all these people cozying up to you”, “why don’t you call me more”… They’ve been dating for less than two weeks, they come from a very physical relationship and honestly ml has the upper hand due to his personality and his place in the hierarchy (being a sunbae and all). It’s uncomfortable as hell, and ml doesn’t even realise that he’s building such tall walls.
Obviously I see that if they spoke it would go much faster, but honestly props to the author for creating a story that pathed itself to the real life experience, it makes it really relatable.
Now on a less serious note: I wanna smack ml for being so insensitive, I’m so mc. I’d be grovelling like a little kid if I were him.
i agree!! not only are they JUST into the relationship, many people literally forget the high standards or expectations the mc has had. In the beginning, he lists a very unrealistic sequence of events that are “ideally” suppose to happen in a relationship, going so far as to having his first time EXACTLY on the 100th day, so when he meets ML and this expectation is shattered he become vulnerable and reasonably starts trusting ML after he realized their physical relationship wasnt so bad after all, even leading to an actual intimate relationship.
a lot of people are criticizing mcs decisions and personality when its obvious hes new into dating and ofc, since the ml isnt giving clear opportunities to communicate the mc feels as if he as to leave it at that. (ml constantly brushing things off where altho the mc is still insecure he feels as if he has to accept mls word)
I’m ready to die. They complete my existence. I’m so, so incredibly happy this story exists. I can’t express it with words.
