OKAY OKAY SO I THINK I UNDERSTAND WHAT MIMORI WAS TRYING TO DESCRIBE IN THE EXTRA CHAPER!
So he was talking about how donuts have holes. It’s kind of hard to understand through what he tells there alone, but he refers to his time in coma here. He doesn’t remember anything about the time in the coma, but Iku does. He says: ‘the reason why i believe that the hole (of the donut), which is clearly devoid of matter (it’s emptiness), is a kind of ‘existence’, is because other people probably have memories of that ‘emptiness’. Confusing, yes, but here he basically says that the hole in a donut isn’t just an emptiness in the donut if other people remember there being a hole, so the hole represents ‘THE HOLE’. Now using this and referencing it to the story, ‘the hole’ is probably the time that Mimori spent in the coma. Mimori doesn’t remember anything of it, so for him it seems like an emptiness. Iku does remember everything of ‘the hole’ (the time in coma) and thus the ‘emptiness’ became something because Iku has memories of it.
Confusing confusing confusing. I read this manga yesterday at around 4am and i was absolutely confused by chapter 6 and this bonus chapter. I also read the sequel and i just couldn’t understand ANY of it. Now it’s once again 4am lmfao.
