I'm just going on a wild guess by saying that ML is a total red flag who probably couldn't handle MC rejecting him and now is causing all this trouble for him.
I think he wants MC back, that's why he is doing these things. And there also seems to ne a huge misunderstanding and something MC is hiding

MCs mom kind of annoyed me at times with just how much she neglectes him in favor of her other son who is very sickly.
I get that it's a difficult situation but it still never justified her outright neglect of MC at times.

Yeah I remember that he was almost assaulted by that creep. She really made him wait for so long before finally telling him she was going to be a no show. Honestly ML is a total green flag when it comes to MC with just how much he took care of him even before he caught feels.
Tbh It’s annoying how NC bears with the sickly sibling being clingy, step father not treating him like family, he shows no respect, and his mother not bothering to talk to him.
