I never read it, but isn't Nii-chan literal fricking shotacon? And I'm pretty sure mangago got rid of (almost?) every shotacon manga on here.

I have read it and it's not really something you can downplay to "shota-con". It was pedophilia but not in the same way shota-con presents it. It was a self aware story about how the abused eventually becomes the abuser and how trauma and grooming can have a life-long affect on someone. It's pretty dark but it has no happy romanticized ending from what I remember. It's a tragedy manga that messes with your head. Tbh it fucked me up pretty badly even for Harada so I'm not really surprised it was removed. But despite that, storyline wise it was decently well written. I felt like shit afterwards but you know

um there is a happy romanticized ending tho. at the end they get together, so it is romanticized

huh? the "happy, romanticized" ending you're referring to's last page (spoiler warning to op) as the mc looking exhausted while trying to convince himself that their relationship isn't wrong though?

just because they're together doesn't mean it's a happy or romanticized ending. that would mean something more like them ending up together and being like 'yayyyy we're totally meant to be and there's nothing wrong with us~! everyone is happy~ :3' but they're clearly two unstable individuals who have a screwed unreliable perspective on their relationship thanks to their trauma and shouldn't be relied upon literally when considering the story's point

Just saying, but shotacon refers to a genre where usually prepubescent boys are depicted, as according to Wikipedia - in a suggestive or erotic manner, whether in the obvious role of object of attraction, or the less apparent role of "subject" (the character the reader is designed to associate with). It also says on Wikipedia that "the usage of the term in both Western and Japanese fan cultures includes works ranging from explicitly pornographic to mildly suggestive, romantic, or in rare cases, entirely nonsexual"; therefore it doesn't matter if the story condemns or romanticises it but since it features a literal kid it is properly tagged as shotacon, I didn't downplay anything, just called it what it is lol.

They never made it seem appealing, it was a bitter reality for everyone involved. There is really no happy ending, just two traumatized people wallowing in each other's sorrow, licking each other's wounds because neither of them can any longer live a normal life due to the trauma inflicted upon them from a young age, that was the reality

Thank you all for informing me abt it just found it weird that someone WANTS to have a reminder of being a victim, especially when it permanently tattooed on their body…it’s also clear to me that the story wasn’t made to bring awareness to anything and the person is just weird ash.
