listen i cant lie, im the first to drop at a red flag and the ML is a total GREY flag... like he's never SA or r*ped the MC but fuck does he try and coerce... the issue is I dont feel ANY love whatsoever. The MC Im sure is capable of it but the ML not at all? So ngl every scene with the ML pusing more than the MC wants feels so ICK to me
maybe that's just me... I liked the plot and the rest of the cast but I like knowing the main couple is actually in love and i dont feel that AT ALLLLLLL

Jay is totally a red flag though? He kept pushing MC down without his consent all the time, he wants to completely control the MC and tie him down and he's extremely possessive. But I agree, it's the first time I can only say the ML is just obsessed and not in love. He literally doesn't care, even when MC is hurt he still wants sex. He's terrifying honestly

That’s his type of “love”, though.
It’s a major plot point in a later novel that his mom tried very hard to make him feel things and would always show him sad movies and such and ask him If he was sad and he always responded with a no. His mom’s biggest wish was for Jay to someday feel something and he says that the only time he was ever moved by someone’s tears was when he saw Yoohan cry. That he felt his sadness and wanted to feel/experience it again.
He’s never diagnosed in the story, but Jay is most likely a psycho/sociopath. If he is, then he really can’t understand emotions, so his obsession is the closest it’ll get to a romance, but in their case, that’s what works.

But he can still learn what coercion is and how not to do it. He's not an idiot, he can make a decision to not push for sex and just accept his partners no if it's all so unemotional for him.
Obviously, said partner would need to be firm, but being the victim of it it's harder to be firm and our mc is very accommodating to the mls wants. I find it all icky and triggering personally but the mc is happy apparently?

So tru as much as i love the novel/manhwa that is an issue that is prominent within Jay and Yoohan's dynamic. But it was mentioned and i think the manhwa kinda doesnt have emphasis as much as the novel that there is a reason as to why Jay treats Yoohan like that. Yoohan still is very guilty about his very existence so he pretty much always self punishes himself ever since his bro and mom's death. He hates himself and would want to off himself but he doesn't have the right to.
And Jay very much understands this thoughts that linger in Yoohan's head. Yoohan doesn't like being treated with kindness because he still think he is someone that deserves the worst. Jay does this as a way for cope(???) Idk how to explain it but pretty much just so Yoohan can be more receptive of the stuff and actions given to him by other people, including Jay. That's why weirdly enough SPOILER when Jay does do good things for Yoohan, Yoohan gets insanely icked out of that reception. But over time Jay does treat Yoohan nicely but Jay still balances it with this weird ass behavior coz ironically deep down (this is how it was written okay) that's the what Yoohan accept to be treated the most. It's weird ik but novel readers seem to get that sense more than ull ever will if you stick to the manhwa alone + this was written in like 2010 so... not to excuse the author in those times that people had worse moral compass in BL writing but
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I'm not saying that to excuse his behaviour. He's still a red flag. But he just doesn't feel emotions in the normal way. I think more so in his mind he was willing to stop at nothing to get what he wanted, which was yoohan. And also in his mind they had a contractual relationship. Jay could've gone all the way with him alot earlier if he had wanted to. Yeah he still did fucked up shit to yoohan. Idk. It's been a while since I've read the full story. I'm eventually gonna re-read it and look deeper into the story. There may be things I just didn't notice. But hey.

Oh whoops I was suppose to get specific with the spoiler but kinda just made an generalization so here's the actual SPOILERS

When Jay was put down of his position as director (yes someone got to do it rather than in the main) it also led to Yoohan being sorta fired in Dream. It kinda left Yoohan being vulnerable and almost having opportunities in the industry having no backer like Director Yoon anymore. And as we all know Yoohan is at a phase where he really wants to do acting but the tides made it seem like he cant. So Jay even when he has less power now decided to become Yoohan's road manager (so he can hang out with Yoohan more) and also indirectly made sure Yoohan still had opportunity to be in the industry. Jay made him join a gameshow even tho it wasnt to Yoohan's interest was actually to ensure to bring down those who fucked them over and put Yoohan on the mark cementing future roles :)
There were also small moments but i think i wont spoil those anymore coz im lazy lol

I read the book so if anyone needs spoilers hmu

Radan keeps living with the prince for a while as the prince gets closer to his goal of overtaking Radan’s country. The prince’s guards continue to try and prove who Radan. They continue to be lovey dovey, the ML is still a grey flag but in the book they were more affectionate then they are in the manga at this point in the story.
MC decides the prince is too kind and that he must run away. The ML and most of his knights are off hunting for info, but Karoom takes MC on a walk and he manages to distract Karoom and starts to escape, but is found by Count Custer’s son (who is replacing his dead dad and holds a grudge against the ML). They try to gangr*pe the MC but the MC’s eyes get uncovered and they all die, and unfortunately Karoom saw the whole thing and imprisons him. While that’s happening, the replacement guide is found by ML and his knights and is tortured into giving up info on the unknown assassin. He tells them the assassin is Radan.
ML confronts Radan and Radan admits it and is all “but I’d never hurt you”. The ML doesnt believe it and they all leave to go storm Radan’s family castle, killing the king and imprisoning the sons. While here the ML learns about his tragic last and pretty much mentally forgives him but the MC escapes and tries to commit s*icide in a river.
He ends up with amnesia and is found by a SUPER rich eccentric merchant that had a prophecy about finding the MC in the river. MC doesnt remember anything but knows he needs to get far away and so he agrees to pretend to be this dude’s bride so they can flee the country long story short theyre found out, and the prince has been slowly losing his mind and consumed by like, i couldn't really tell if he was just learning or if something was actually going on w him, a weird madness.
He imprisons the merchants and is super angry Radan has forgotten him and that he’s now engaged to someone else so he chains him, beats him severely and r*pes him :(
Classic BL tho bc the MC is scared of him the next but then like forgets about his fear house later and is all “uwu ily prince” even tho he us LEGIT covered in bruises from ML.
Yada yada they are in love, the ML now controlls the other country and makes Radan’s brother, the one who imprisoned him, a total nutcase by torturing him and then installing him on the throne as essentially a puppet.
Not that much more happens besides them trying to figure out how to break the curse which is only possible after 99 blood moons (legit the moon turns red like every other month). Also during the blood moon’s Radan can look at other people without killing em. The merchant and co are released and he’s all “dang i rly wanted to marry that dude oh well” and then its happily ever after for everyone.
It got kinda anticlimactic at the end and also after the ML hurt the MC I was less focused haha

unfortunately i didnt know anything about this author before i read the novel lmaooo
I DID know there was a single r*pe scene but the reviews made it out like the ML was not in the right frame of mind but imo he was present enough to know it was wrong and I just couldnt really get past it. He was green otherwise but the actual assault was so bad I couldnt take the rest of the book seriously lmao

Tbf in this story it lowkey makes sense. If you read the book it goes a lot kore into Radan’s psyche and how fucked up he is from being caged his entire life. It’s why his speech is stunted and he doesnt know anything. The ML is legit the first person to show him unconditional love. I agree I hate damsel MCs but I think it makes sense for Radan here. He doesnt really know otherwise

and the prince has been slowly losing his mind and consumed by like, i couldn't really tell
Leshek loses his ability to feel anything, physically or emotionally, without emotions to empathize, his obsession (which is part of the curse, that's why he's so taken with him from the jump), drives him to be able to commit any atrocity. Once he restores his ability to feel he goes back to being green.
15 years on and im still DEVASTATED it was cancelled
