yes he did wrong by comparing them. he himself realized he messed up & that's not what he meant. he did try talking to her that same day to fix things but she wasn't listening. he's intentions are good, its Maxi that has to explain herself to him (how she really grew up or express how she wants to help more). to him she was the most cherished daughter of the duke that was kept away for her "safety". He believes she was spoiled & taken care of her life. He is trying to spoil his wife, he came from a poor background. He has his own insecurities, probably feeling he will never be good enough for her. He probably thinks she's to kind & feels bad so she needs to help since they don't have other wizards
