If it's asexuality i'm liking how it's been portrayed since the beginning, but i have a feeling it's all trauma. The story would make a ton of sense if that was it, there could be a conflict, a solution to it and a good ending. And the fact that this whole business with his mother is so fishy would have a storytelling purpose, same with the fact that Shii likes him. I was getting pumped by the idea of reading about an asexual character in yaoi, but to be honest that doesn't seem to quite fit the purpose of the story imo. Anyways let's see how it goes... if anything i only hope it doesn't take a dark turn and ends badly, cause the tone of the story could allow it. Idk i got so attached to them i only want a happy ending.
As an asexual myself I hope they stick with him being ace! It would be nice to see some ace representation in a genre that is very much full of smut and is orientated around mostly sexual relationships between men! I’d love to see a story about how shii can come to accept that he doesn’t need to have sex with the person he loves to be satisfied with loving him and that they can live happily ever after as a result, that would make my lil’ ace heart happy (▰˘◡˘▰)
Just a question since I still don't fully understand asexuality, but if the MC in a BL story is ace then wouldn't the story be just a Shounen ai and not yaoi? Since yaoi is Shounen ai + smut, or just gay smut with no plot/love.
I mean, a story that starts out like this and develop to have sex to fit the yaoi genre but later breaks off into an acceptance that the partner is ace and no sex as the partner respects their ace lover, then would that still stay true to the yaoi genre? I would personally just say it's a Shounen ai with small amount of smut in the middle of the story, but wouldn't really call it yaoi
Sometimes on this website there are manga labelled yaoi when some are actually shounen ai and even still he could be part of the spectrum of Asexuality meaning he could be Demi-sexual (which is only sexually attracted to someone you have a strong bond with) so that might be why it is labelled yaoi also! And there is the fact it could be trauma too holding him back but he may have sex later in the story.

The director (Minwoo's wife) had made a sudden change in the lineup for the duet presentation, obligating Minwoo (against his wishes) to perform with Jaehyun and no longer with his son, which has been arranged way back in the first chaper.
Since Jaehyun's escape with Seojin, he had turned off his phone, so he wasn't aware of the sudden change. Seojin on the contrary somehow was made aware of it and told Jaehyun that this was the director's choice.
Seojin asked Jaehyun not to go and asked him to stay hidden until after the week ended, when both would be free to fly off to German (by Seojin's wishes, Jaehyun didn't blatantly agree or deny).
Jaehyun said he absolutely had to go and perform. At the theatre, his thoughts in balloons say that the piano is pretty much all he has left and he has dreamed of having his name in that lineup for a long time, so of course he wouldn't miss it. When he arrived, seeing Seojin's serious expression made him as nervous as the lineup change had.
They obviously had angry sex, and after that Jaehyun went up to the stage to perform with Minwoo and their sex footage was shown.
They both left. Minwoo vented his anger by solely blaming Jaehyun for his downfall and called him a kid. JH said he had enough and wanted to end their relationship. Minwoo got angrier because Jaehyun had previously told him he would stay by his side.
Jaehyun told him he indeed had stayed with him (sleeping and living together) out of love, but he was done. The discussion went on until Minwoo pushed him out of anger, which unintentionally caused Jaehyun to go further into the middle of street and get hit.
Seojin stayed behind in the theatre. He was questioning himself of who would do something as twisted as releasing that footage, that's when he saw Minwoo's assistant there. He instantly knew the director was involved in it, so he tried calling her office but she was absent. He asked them to return his call later and then... he saw the scene.

Still there's no way jaehyun ends up dead cause like... he's the main character and all that. Hopefully minwoo backs off or at least jaehyun keeps up his intention to break up after he's back. Tho i'm sensing some really sadistic vibes from this author... hopefully they don't pull the "amnesia" card or some weird stuff like that just let my boy wake up safe and give us some angsty and soft seojin taking care of jaehyun at the hospital ㅠㅠ
