I feel like I'm probably gonna drop this. The girl who's meant to be with the male lead is clearly a conniving bitch and the mc can see that, and yet she wants to back off and set her up with the male lead, without any consideration that this woman who has such malice towards you and knows your secret would be extremely powerful and backed by the evil empress dowager. You may consider that you just want to live a peaceful life on your own but are you moving to another country and changing your identity or something? Because you're never gonna be able to avoid her wrath if she becomes empress. The entire country will burn and it'd be your fault.
Like, for the love of God just imprison her, banish her, or cut her head off and get it over with. My emotions can't take the pure aggravation that would be tens of chapters of drama where the mc can't stand up for herself and keeps trying to push a toxic bitch into a position of power. There's probably gonna be tons of arguments between her and the emperor where their communication is shit and she's jealous and upset over the original FL, while he's pissed at her for pushing a woman he despises onto him. You had no issues stripping an aristocrat of all his titles and wealth so why don't you have any of that spirit towards a toxic threatening person, and instead just lie for her and stay quiet? I guess it's like her being insecure or something, but I just can't stand people NOT acting on their righteous anger and instead just swallowing it and knowingly furthering the villain's plot and power.
And I know the mc can turn around and not make this a shitty drama like that, but I've also seen too many of these situations and I can't stand seeing any treatment other than execution, banishment, or the equivalent of a no-contact agreement. Like for fuck's sake, you have no reason to entertain or allow toxic people into your life, especially when the male lead is willing to execute people for slight inconveniences. You should've began avoiding her as soon as you realized she wasn't like the original fl, and should've made a plan and spilled your guts to the emperor to protect yourself.
I feel you, it was so frustrating seeing that the fl has a bad feeling with original fl but still goes on. It would have been manageable has the fl known nothing about blonde's true personality, but she knows!!

Exactly! I've seen manhwa where there's an outwardly sweet "original FL" who's evil and conniving, but she already has power and support from the aristocracy or royals. So the mc, even if they know about this, can't do much to stop them until they work to gain power and trust. THAT makes sense, even though it's overdone. In this case, though, she has ALL the trust and power and yet she's trying to step down and assist a clearly rude and "bad" person in gaining the trust of others. I mean here's to hoping she very quickly stops doing that
I wanted to say thanks for the hard work and updates. You guys may say the quality decreased, but I think it's still great! It's better than a lot of the translations that I've seen go out, and is able to easily be understood. So it's still perfect, even if it's not up to your quality standards. I watched Mushoku Tensei when it was airing last season and was so insanely grossed out by the pervy scenes with the other young characters in the show. I feel like people didn't acknowledge how absolutely creepy it was that the main character was having sexual feelings for a preteen in his new childish body, when he was like 30 ish in his past life. That's literally just pedophilia, my man.
I'm glad Art acknowledges that, because I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything romantic happening with them until they're at least 16, preferably 20. Once they're in their twenties I think it'd be fine, but Tess isn't going to be anywhere near Arthur's maturity until she's like 25 ish, so it'd definitely be immoral for them to be romantic together. Felt really uncomfortable by the random kiss last chapter.

you’re right, they do get together when they’re 16. but arthur goes through a hell lot of thought processing and stuff before he admits his feelings so it’s not as bad as it seems. i also dropped mushoku because of how gross it was. I read this before i watched MT but the romance between arthur and tess is tolerable compared to MT.
I'm glad It wasn't just me that the manga or the anime didn't sit well with. I think if they just cut those parts out in Mushoku Tensei it would've actually been a good manhwa in some way and I could've read it.

I read somewhere that he even ends up with all three girls , his master, childhood friend and then that girl that I think is pretty much related to him like a cousin or something, marries all three and has children. For me that just finally ruined it all, of course the pedophilia part is gross and I can't take it .

I think the big difference between Mushoku Tensei and this is that it takes like a decade for us to see any growth in Mushoku Tensei. The mc is like 10, treating preteens around him like loli figurines whose underwear he can take off while they're sleeping. In the show, we see that decade in the span of a few hours, so it seems like natural progress, but then you realize that he has been in that world for a quarter of his total lived life and yet he hasn't fully learned to treat people like people and have empathy for them. He still acts like he's an outsider and is very much so painted as "his past self in a new body." So him acting weirdly towards girls his age isn't him acting his age, since he hasn't assimilated... It's him being a 30 something year old perving on children.
Meanwhile Art decided to embrace his new friends and family and try to live the childhood he never got to live, and as a result has become much different from how he once was. He's more "Arthur" than he is his past self at this point, so it doesn't feel that far off to think that he could eventually decide to just disconnect ties with the "past him" and live as if he were nobody but Arthur.
Just my two cents on it, but it'll always feel kinda weird regardless.
