i was super wary of this because of how muheun (the top) was a lot older than seungju (the bottom) and was a guidance figure towards him. immediate red flag, but i ignored it because i wanted to give it a chance. fast forward, i dropped it for a bit and read the most recent chapter and it’s rape. if someone revokes their consent during sex and the other one continues, it is sexual assault. the writing of muheun is all over the place and it’s another example of excellent idea with subpar execution. TL;DR: knew this was gonna end up creepy bc of the age gap, ofc there’s S/A
dude im actually so mad bc in the novel its literally not like this at all. it was very sweet, gentle and none of this noncon-ish shit ugh its an ass adaptation.

RIGHT???? and this is an adaptation, it's supposed to be true to the source material why is the manhwa team taking liberty on not something that is theirs.....

Because they wanna sell, and they learnt that's the path to achieve so... They fear the actual buyers might find it 'boring' instead of interesting and thrilling. They even gain more popularity when something has more bad reviews compared to good ones in this field, and as they mostly are a bit 'conservative minded' the story between two males has to be on the toxic/tragic side more than on the healthy or romantic aspect of the plot... or, it is simply how the author decided to go for and it's just their way to write and create their own work... Who knows... Tho' that's what I think, I might be wrong... But I am sad too~
There are plenty of good and healthy stories, sadly, I am starting to not find anymore anything else lately so... Here I am, complaining in stories I shouldn't evn read because they just aren't what I usually like ( ̄∇ ̄")..

its very unfortunate, but everything you've said is true. i also find myself reading stories where the dynamic of the couple isn't to my liking simply because the storyline is just too good; "the foul" was one such manhwa but the plot has been dragging on with too little character development recently. its such a shame though, i really wish the manhwa teams wouldn't do the adaptations like this bc there's so many which are doing really good even without toxic dynamics like "no moral" and "unfair love affair" but i digress.
