ofc he's with the same fking people AGAIN like what was the reason??? cha eugene getting 0 screentime for the nth time cuz the author decided to put moondae in the same group as the 3 people he's always with
can anyone who has read the novel tell me if eugene at least becomes more relevant after they debut???
Girl this is a manhwa with a very clear MC (moondae). Ofc the story would unfold his story and things around him and cha eugene not being there is because thats how the storyline goes?? That's how the authot write the story???? This ain't some real group you stanning, get your toxic fans mindset outta here cause that totally ain't needed just enjoy the story ffs.
Sorry this got super long. I’m super ranty about stuff I like and am interested in lol:
lol, I think it would be weird if Moondae didn’t pair up with his friends during a round where they GET to pick their own team. Like, all the other matches so far had him paired up without much input or had too many external favors involved. So, if he finally was allowed a choice, he was obviously gonna end up with the same people. Especially since they’re the one that dragged him into the group. Yes, the other characters wanted to be in a group with moondae, but having even more high ranking people on the team would’ve put them in jeopardy. So, he couldn’t invite Cha Eugene after his group was made.
Also, Cha Eugene couldn’t be in the same group because they’re basically like the rivals during the competition arc. Whereas Cha Eugene is born to be the perfect Idol and has dominated the rankings easily, Moondae had to work up to his position and train harder on his skills. It’s like the battle between a natural genius vs a hardworking genius. If they weren’t pitted together in the finals, that would make for a pretty disappointing ending, especially after all the hype/build up to their face off.
So, essentially, moondae and Cha Eugene cannot be in the same group for the finals, since that’s the literal climax of the story. If the contestants are allowed to make teams, it makes sense in the story for him to pair with the people he is close with and has a better synergy with. The people in his friend group are also the steamroller type that basically drags him into things(that’s how they became friends with him in the first place), so of course they were gonna be the one that gets teamed up with him. They literally immediately went to him as soon as it started. It would be unlikely for the other contestants, who aren’t as close with moondae, to reach out to him first.(especially after other contestants probably have made their own connections and know who they work well with).
Its just makes sense for the story, and we all still find it VERY entertaining, so idk XD opinions differ I guess? I think it makes the most narrative sense
Also, so far, moondae hasn’t been winning any of the competitions lately, even while doing good, so he’s not getting a complete victory. They can take this pattern and switch it up since it’s the finals, which will be very interesting imo.
Anyway, it’s all about perspective and personal tastes lol.
This comment probably got a lot of bad traction cause of the way you phrased your original comment lol. Like I said earlier, you legit sounded like a cha Eugene stan that came straight off of this story haha XD
Idk if anything I said will help though lol. But let’s all just enjoy idol manhwas and not stress too much.
Moondae has repeatedly said that he hopes his fans don’t get too stressed out with internet beef so let’s all follow his commandments.
Don't read then lmao, if it's predictable and boring then go somewhere else, make your own fucking story. No one wants to hear you fucking whines here. Mf act like they can write a fucking better story stfu and eat the story up silently cause your fucking cha eugene literally made by the same fucking author who wrote this predictable and boring story. I hope for a few TENS chapters from now cha eugene will appears AS LITTLE AS ur ffucking peabrain.

Yeah yahwi is a red flag but I can't stand cain and jooin's backstory like a fucking pet and an owner??????? Reincarnation? And the fact that cain remembers his past?? Add supernatural or fantasy in tags lol like it's so random and out of place.
Author should've just made them as childhood friends or summ, idc if it's cliche but it makes more sense than this (imo)
This is mainly the reason why I just can't ship them. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭''
take your own advice bitchass hoe
thank you for this very informative reply and for answering my question
still don't like the fact that the MC is forced into the same circle of people in every mission EVEN if it ''makes narrative sense'' cuz i want to get to know the other characters better and see how their chemistry is with the MC, like eugene and the taekwondo dude who i forgot the name of cuz he shows up maybe once every 50 chapters
especially considering every mission plays out the same, they get put into groups, some random conflict arises, they solve it (or specifically the Moondae does with the help of the others) and then they either win 1st or get 2nd place which feels repetitive. i know it's because they're following the survival show formula but i really would have appreciated it if the author had explored the different dynamics between the members who will end up debuting more even though it's quite ''early'' in the story as i understand it
To me Cha Eugene doesn't even feel like a rival since he barely has any significant relevance to the story and doesn't push the narrative forward in any shape way or form. all the problems moondae faces and eventually overcomes would still be there and develop him as a character regardless of is cha eungene would be present or not which isn't typical for a rival, and they're not even pited against each other as individuals like you would expect if cha eugene is supposed to be the main rival of this arc? that's why i feel like cha eugene and taekwondo dude just feel closed off from the rest for no apparent reason
girl just go read the novel if you're getting so impatient to see moondae interact with eugene and cheongwoo(?) instead of crying here.

here's the link. go read, shoo.
lol I see him as a rival because moondae has said multiple times about how he was a natural genius and born to be an idol, with charisma that draws people in. They’ve actually been pitted against each other before. But only because their fans did, but moondae has been trying to stop that narrative as much as he can. I see him as a rival since he’s most likely to be first place and I want moondae on first place lol
All I’m gonna say since I gotta get to work lol XD
Okay I’m on break at work so I can comment again lol
I get wanting to see more of the characters.
However, I can see why mc has to be with his current team. Every competition has had an obstacle that moondae solves, yes, but it’s also about the characters around him.
Each round of the show has had one character be kinda in center stage and have more depth/story to them. Like how big sejin was a big part of the last arc.
So, it might take awhile, but the characters you want to see more of will have their arcs come, so it’s all about being patient.
It’s the finals of the competition now, and I’m guessing it’ll be mainly focusing on moondae, as well as his leadership skills this arc. So, for him to team up with people he’s been in a team with and work well with, it’ll highlight his own charisma, which is needed for him to be an idol, if that makes sense haha. And, since it’ll be mainly focusing on moondae(probably idk I haven’t read the novel), it would be a disservice to explore another character’s depth/growth(since it wouldn’t be giving either time)
If there was a round before this finals, the author probably would’ve had him team up with cha Eugene or Ryu Chungwoo, and had them be the center of the arc(not fully center, but like had their stories or had a storyline of them told) however, since it’s the finals, it had to be about moondae, and placing him with his current team members won’t draw away attention from him(which is needed for the basically climax of the competition arc)
Personally, I like the way the story has been written so far, and rather than repetitive, I just see them as arcs of a story.(and arcs for stories usually follow a template. It’s actually just following the regular story template you learn about in school lol) Maybe it’s cause I grew up watching super long series(like one piece and Naruto), so I’m used to that formula haha XD
Anyway, it’s all personal taste, and let’s just respect each other’s opinions. I and many others disagree with your opinion, but I hope you understand where I’m coming from.
It might just be about patience I guess haha. Also I love every character so I’m happy seeing all of them whenever.
And I sorta discussed my opinion on cha Eugene being a rival to moondae lol. For me, I’ve seen them as sorta rivals, but not in the hot-blooded shounen sense. More like, this is what Moondae will have to go up against, if he wants to be first place(which we as the audience wants, idk about him lol) and, with how many times he’s described cha Eugene as a very strong contender(without even trying) it seems like the author is trying to create a gap between the two. Which will be very satisfying at the end when moondae crosses that gap.
Hopefully that makes sense and my thought process was understood lol
"if i cared about this shit" nah sis you care QUITE A LOT actually, judging by your constant aggressive replies. i don't like to use this word often, by you're definitely 'triggered'. you can't bitch and cry and whine and moan continuously and then try to pull the "idgaf actually" card. you're so fucking embarrassing you're definitely a 12 year old kid. no actual adult would behave the way you do. delete your shitty ass comment to save yourself from further embarrassment because you will continue to get ratioed, you absolute fucking imbecile.
why do the characters change their personality every chapter like it makes no sense
also the plot is confusing af like i'm pretty sure we're missing some chapters??
exactly what happened between tae-oh and his ex, we know his ex scammed his ass but how and why?? also how did the father find out that his mom left cuz she figured out tae-oh was gay???? and when the fuck did tae-oh run away from hyun??? i just get more confused with every chapter
The ex scammed him because the ML thought the ex was the guy who comforted him when he was about to kill himself? But it was acc the mc. The reason the dad found out was because I think they had a meeting in school and ex told on the ML and then the dad fought him. The mum knew he was gay because of what he said when he was young about liking a boy. I don’t understand your last question but all of this info is in the chapters
i'm not talking about that scene in particular where the ex tricks him, i'm talking about what happens AFTER that which is unclear?????? how and when did their relationship end and WHY?? if it was because the ex tricked him then how did he even find out??? the only thing we've seen of their breakup is like a 2 panel flashbacks of the ex saying something shitty but we never find out how things get to that point? there's the scene where the ex, who is hanging around shady guys, is on the phone with the ML but there's no context to what the ex is even up to or how long it's been since he started ''scamming'' the ML???
also it seemed like the MC had no idea that the dad found out??? how the hell are we as readers supposed to conclude that OH the dad found out through the school/the ex and then he AUTOMATICALLY concluded that their mother must have left because she found out he was gay with how little context we got?? it's just bad writing
and the last question was about the scene right after the flashbacks happen? the scene before the flashbacks literally just ends with ML running home to confront his mom who's with the MC then out of nowhere we find out he ran away from home after the flashbacks end? tf????????
Nah, let me give u some explanation.
At chapter 26, it said hajin sold his house which is under hajin name. So, his friend ask him to take the house back and cut off with hajin.
The run away happened when Tae Oh's mother came to the house.
So far that's all I can answer. I'll back if I found another answer.
usually i love fucked up stories, blackmailing and enemies to lovers plot lines but the way skylar's trauma is portrayed just makes me ill at the idea of cirrus and him ending up together
we'll see what happens but damn cirrus is gonna have to do a complete 180 for the author to realistically pair them up romantically
BOOOOOOO MOONDAE RIGGED ASS FIRST PLACE
CHA EUGENE DESERVES BETTER
NO MOONPUPPY DESERVES FIRST PLACE FOR ALL HE WENT THROUGH >:( CHA EUGENE IS ALREADY CHEATING WITH HIS STATS
HEY HEY, PEOPLE VOTED, EUGENE IS STILL DEBUTING THANK HEAVENS, ALSO WHO WOULD HE HAVE PICKED?
u should lowkey end it gang!
