Well yes the the Mc's family is awful but the story itself is good! The latest chapters are just a bit slow,that's all.
I'll be honest, there isn't much of a story here. I'm reading it because of cute art. it's not worth the hype, but it's not entirely undeserving. basically, read it if you wish to, and are willing to cuz the story has not moved forward at all in the past 6-7 chapters

TLDR; I recommend piling it up, then read it when it is finished. The storytelling of this story is great!
If you get too angry and bothered, then I recommend piling it up a bit more (maybe even until the story finishes) since you can speed read parts that you absolutely abhor, but still get the payoff of having the villain get what they deserve.
Usually, cliffhangers are there to let those emotions simmer and let the audience become more invested, but if those negative emotions makes you wish youd just drop the story, then it's better to avoid staying in that mindset. Binging stories lessens the overall emotional impact, but it still allows you to enjoy the story nonetheless.
I still recommend this story tho. You only get engaged or emotional on stories with amazing storytelling. Seeing you and many others getting heated clearly shows that the author is doing great job at what they do.
