The childhood best friend needs to stay out of it we all know he has a crush on the MC so telling the ML to stay away isn’t JUST to keep his childhood friend safe. It also really upsets me when characters like the childhood friend say things like “ so and so is too naive they’re too nice etc” The MC is his own person he can make his own decisions no matter how “ dangerous” him being involved with the ML might seem.
