she had been in love with the grand duke in the beginning and ofc over time through being ignored, being mistreated and used she begun hating the grand duke. The grand duke had treated alexandro’s mother as nothing more than a breeding horse and a tool for him to have a son, an heir to the dukedom. he threw away their first child as it was a girl (who could not inherit the title, and bc he wanted a boy), and it was presumed to be dead or gone, and for every valid reason this drove alex’s mother slightly insane and filled with hatred towards the grand duke. then alex was born, and he looked like a carbon copy of his father whom his mother hated. she never hated alex but she hated seeing him grow up to look exactly like him, the man who practically ruined her life.
