don't hate grandpa. he was born in different, very hermetic, times. i don't think he's using "emotional blackmail". it's just his honest belief. remember that old people are terrified of being lonely one day.
honestly even young people are terrified of being lonely. it's just that people fill the void of loneliness differently in different times. I just wish he can tell his grandpa, reassure him he won't be lonely even without a traditional family. going out with someone for the sake of someone else is just gonna make everyone unhappy.
