here’s what i understood:
- a project of the royal family failed so now they’re in debt.
- the (soon to be) husband offers to pay off the debt if he can marry the princess so that he can become the duke
- the princess falls in love with the husband at first sight
- the princess and ‘husband’ get married
- in the wedding reception, the princess’ brother announces that they’re basically not going to keep their part of the deal and they’re taking the title of ‘duke’ away from the husband.
- so i mean the royal family kept the deal bc the husband got married to the princess, but they took his title away (which is why he married in the first place) so they played him
- bc the husband was mad that he was played, he walks out the wedding reception (he probably left but he could’ve just went outside to get some air too)
- the princess was unaware of this tho
- i think the husband ignored the wife bc she was of no use and he may think she was in on the plan of playing him

The only place I've seen the novel, is where you have to buy it. Kindle has it for like $4 a book ( some cheaper) and there's 7 book total. Where the comic is now.. Its the 3rd book last time I checked
