I feel so dumb after reading it ToT but… can someone explain the story to me?? Specially the ending
Haha I’ve seen a few people confused so when I get home I’ll add a tl note to the last chapter with this information but the timeline is:
- Odajima joins the gang and makes friends with the unnamed character. Odajima and Kataoka know of each other’s presence (especially since Odajima’s friend admires Kataoka), but don’t really interact probably because of their difference in rank
- Odajima’s friend is killed after jumping in front of a bullet meant for Kataoka
- 7 years pass and Odajima has become the kumichou’s assistant and Kataoka becomes the wakagashira.
- The kumichou falls ill(?) and Odajima starts working with Kirii instead. Kataoka makes a mistake and is sent on a trip with Odajima while Kirii ‘makes peace with the enemy gang’; but it’s an excuse to kill Kataoka.
- Chapter 0 extra (shown at the end) The two of them are traveling and Kataoka wakes up from a wet dream he doesn’t remember and touches Odajima for the first time
- The main story begins
- In chapter 5 after declaring they’re leaving the gang and having car sex, Odajima fires the gun.
- Odajima and Kataoka (who Odajima didn’t end up shooting) move to Okinawa and start a resort job, given to them by the old man they met in chapter 2.
- Extra: Odajima and Kataoka reminiscing about the people they’ve met on their journey (unclear if they’re still working at the resort, or with the gang again, or just living life)

The red haired honestly seems like a gentle guy (aside from being a killer lol but for now he’s only following orders and they are disgusting people) I hope he continues like this because I’m loving the chemistry he has with the protagonist <3
I just read this in one sitting and I have to admit it surprised me in the best way possible. I thought this story would revolve around love triangles or polygamy, which I don’t really like tbh, but instead it showed really good communication between the characters (obviously with some ups and downs along the way) and an interesting story (I loved both couples btw). So sad it ended but happy with how things turned out!
