While Dongha overreacted I understand the position he was unfortunately put in. It was completely unfair to Sungwoo, but some of yall need to understand that those kids were obviously homophobic so while I cringed at Dongha's actions, I wasn't suprised. (Also can we all agree having characters have near sex/actually sex in open, unlocked classrooms is a trope that needs to die? Leads to unnecessary drama like this as its totally avoidable. Why couldn't they talk on their way to cram school since they'd be going in the same direction anyway?)
Dongha was already concerned about being outed for his crush on Sungwoo, so he attempts to distance himself from him so he's not found out. And with his classmates immediately going to mock Sungwoo for hugging him in the video, their reactions confirms his fears of being outed and he throws Sungwoo under the bus to save himself. Its a cowardly move, but we already know that Dongha is a coward and he immediately regrets doing so when he sees Sungwoo.
Hopefully Dongha gets to apologize to Sungwoo tho
I hope the story doesnt get bogged down with pointless thirst traps and romance. The story is promising tho. Its still very strange that a random girl asks the MC to adopt her tho. Obviously there's a deeper meaning to it but its definitely looking that the young girl is having feelings for him. Which is weird af
If there needs to be any romance, I hope it makes sense and its between Yeji and MC. They look good together and have good chemistry. While Solo Leveling is by no means an original story, this webtoon has a very similar premise but its taking more the mentorship route. I hope as the plot evolves that the 2 webtoons become more distinct from each other.
The minute he finds out that his father was a fallen hero, mans developed this holier than thou complex. Like bruh chill. Niro did a complete 180, for no reason on the way he treats people. At least his friends.
Him being a douche to the nobles is fine, cuz they deserve it. But he's being unnecessarily cruel to Nieria. He needs to do some serious reflection.
Maybe its the pacing of the story, but too much is happening and lightning speed and Niro keeps grinding his character development in the exhausted pavement
I can't be the only one to dislike Isabelle right? I dont understand why she's starting to like Frey the minute Lucas' soul enters his body, like it actually makes zero sense. They were in the same class and everyone knew he was being bullied so unless she liked him before then(which I doubt) its just the author forcing a romance between the two. Hell there's more chemistry between Professor Jane and Frey than with him and Isabelle.
I also dont like nor understand why she's unable to protect herself on the ship. She's the 3rd strongest on the ship (without accounting for thr Lich) why is she afraid of the pirates then acts like she got them in her trap after allowing herself to be captured. Just fight them with Frey.
The Great Mage Returns after 4000 years takes all the cliche story elements of a reincarnation story and makes them 100x more annoying. The premise of the story is great but the execution of it seems really poor to me. Like every character in the story is either annoying or pitiful.
Frey is really pitiful, and he's bullied for being weak. It would've been nice to introduce his 2 older siblings to see the power gap between them. His father disowning him for just being weak just makes him look like a cartoon villian. Frey is from a noble family, it'd make sense for them to push him into something that'd at least increase his magic aptitude, but no disown him.
Lucus: standard shounen protagonist just aged 50 years
Frey: Frey's bullies, David and the other kids have no other motive to bullying Frey other than he's weak. Again this makes no sense since they all come from very wealthy families. Unless they're being suffocated at home or are inadequate to their siblings (if they have them), then why are they wasting their time with Frey when they should be focusing on their training. David is especially stupid and annoying. You threaten to basically make Frey disabled then you're begging for him to stop when it gets turned on you. Pathetic.
Isabelle: Her sudden attraction to Frey doesn't make sense. She didn't notice him before he was bullied but not she has a crush on him? Why? Also she is one of the strongest mages in her class why is she being threatened by her Professor and no name pirates. I'll understand that her upbringing will make her polite but since they're all training to be powerful magicans why would she tolerate this treatment? Her character direction is all over the place. She either needs to be shy but can stand her ground when need be or not a talented mage.
Professor Jane: while her interactions with Frey are amusing....um why is she being swayed by a child?
Everyone else: either cartoonishly evil, pitiful, or pathetic. Besides Jun. He's alright.
Story: 8.5/10
Characters: 4/10
Totally agree. Like I wanna see where the story goes but majority of the characters are just a frustrating mash of random character tropes. Like a basic story can always shine if it has stellar characters but an awesome story can be ruined by horribly written characters.
There's so many isekai mangas and manhwas being released, and honestly they follow the same premise for the most part. For me the characters end up making or breaking the story. As I said, The Great Mage Returns after 4000 years has a good plot going for it but its being seriously hindered by its cast. I dont think even think I'm nitpicking here, just that majority of the characters are downright insufferable.
Story is unique, tho its kinda stupid to become a slave over losing a game of baseball of all things.
Should change Freedom's team clothes or add an eechi tag. The amount of ass and boob shots are unnecessary and just forced.
