So…I’m at ch 25 rn after dropping it for a while and does Alvin ever grow up?? Him having the mentality of a kid is sooo freaking uncomfortable

Yes he start to adapt quickly going forward he is an adult and he knows that and acts upon it but after what happened to him I think it was due to the trauma that took place when he was merely a child he got abducted and then abused no food all kind of harm was done to him in this kind of situation his mind stopped processing the situation and he was stuck in the mentality of a child and it’s not a simple thing after years of r*pe assault pain to be saved and to expect the brain to function properly to go back to how à normal person thinks it’s impossible. That being said, if you continue reading the story you would witness Alvin acting as a very educated adult with the manners and elegance of à prince but he still acts as a baby in front of Kenny

I kind of feel for Taemoon. Obv it’s not Sunwoo’s intention but it does come across like all he wants to do is have sex. Maybe it’s because he’s never been in a relationship? Maybe he’s unconsciously limiting himself to just wanting sex because he doesn’t think it’s ‘possible’ to want more (like a movie date, picnic, etc.) except they do go to restaurants so…idk. Maybe it’s the only way he knows how to show affection because he’s a himbo with 0 brain cells when it comes to romance?
yo the transition from him almost getting assaulted to them confessing their undying love for each other and fucking was sooo sudden. Where’s the build up???
When i read stories like this i feel like trauma is just a figment of my imagination ain't no way a sane person will experience that and just go " yepp so that happened now did you know i love you ?"
adrenaline makes you say things you wouldn’t other ways confess. and people also get uncharacteristic when they experience near-death/traumatic things, the man you love could’ve been brutalized and killed. idk i liked it
True but i still think it was abrupt ( ̄∇ ̄")
Agreed. It happens so much in BL where the immediate "solution" or resolution offered to the victim of sexual assault is sex with their true love. That's just not how that kind of trauma works and really does make a reader feel as if the violence never happened.
Exactly
Yeah, it’s a very common trope. I get how sometimes adrenaline can ‘speed’ things up but like…confessing and boinking right there? And in the entryway where it happened, no less? I’m srsly side-eyeing them rn
ikr we just need to switch off our brain and read ig
