I'm kind of disappointed of how the shinigami became shinigami. I mean I loved them and their various personalities so much that it bothers me that they were suicide victims. Like can you imagine that Grell, Will, Ronald and even freakin Undertaker killed themselves? Like no, I just can't, and what lead them to do it? Ugh. Why?
My exactly thoughts, I can't picture them killing themselves is just wrong , but I admit the idea was great ,if she explained the history of them it was better :/
I think it might be Japanese lore on the origins of Shinigami. I've seen this type of origin lore in multiple manga of many different genres.

I think if anything Mei would be Shishio since she is denying her feelings like Shishio did. Harumin is Mamura (Mamura is Suzumes best friend like Harumin is Yuzus). In chapter 13.5 it hints that Harumin likes Yuzu but is hiding it. My guess is when she sees Yuzu brokenhearted she will stop running away and swoop in. Then Mei would be jealous. At this point I hope it ends like Daytime Shooting Star too and she loses her to the best friend just as Shishio did. She deserves it. I know it wont happen tho. ;_;

I used to love the couple Kai x Megumi, but recently Rin's been warming up to me too. She's cute and she honestly like Kai, while Megumi is just being a little Tsundere. I'm getting HinataMisakiUsui Deja Vu here ._.
I feel exactly the same way, especially after reading chapter47.
I remember when Rin appeared I was ready to dislike her and thought she would only be a third wheel/stepping stone for the Magumi/Kai pairing but now I don't want to see her hurt and I ship her with Kai. She's honest and cute.

Ah no im still rooting for Megumi as shes having a character change and stuff and Kai doesnt really seem that into Rin, also I find Rin annoying as she gives off this sense of naiveness and seems to have this perfect life and doesnt consider anyone else feelings (like her brothers)
