you're right, not remembering it does not nullify what he has done. this whole relationship started out wrong, but in my personal opinion, in a logical perspective, the duke is still much more at fault. look, we can't deny the fact that the duke is simply a very strong person in terms of strength. he was completely capable of pushing jace away when he wasn't in his right mind, but he didn't budge. of course, this is still rape. but this time when the duke raped jace, it was very clear jace did not want this. he clearly demonstrated that he didn't want to have sex with him. keep in mind the duke is in his right mind, unlike jace. the duke used his petty feelings as an excuse to rape him. thats not normal. if i were jace, i would not attempt to mend this relationship at all and would simply quit this job.

Would you say that Jace really raped the duke the first time? When he was the one who was sort of drugged/not in his right mind and also given that the duke was sober and could have easily pushed him away? The duke is also much stronger and he wasn't traumatized/numb by Jace kissing him so he could have left anytime. Jace is supposed to be smart and all but he frequently does stupid shit that should have gotten him fired already and the duke was portrayed as dignified and cold but compassionate. He also seems relatively inexperienced in regards to relationships so his whole approach to get Jace doesn't line up with how his character was set up. However, he just suddenly turns into this obsessed rapist. If that isn't bad writing idk what is...

Oooookay. Everyone is having a hot discussion and all but I want to share some things to you all as to why I think they both are wrong. (▰˘◡˘▰)

Only seeing how those actions were described in this webtoon DOES make we feel like the Duke was worst and Jace past actions are some kind of unavoidable mistake or whatever, buuuuuuuut based on my own past experiences I DO think Jace is also in the wrong.

I have experienced things like: strong anesthesia, to much alcohol and strong (almost overdosing) tranquilizer.
I can say that I KNOW that even if you can't think straight, you CAN differentiate good and bad, and that's why it's not excusable.

Continuing my story, when I was beaten by someone only because he was was under effects of alcohol, drugs and medicine, he did a lot of bad things. He made use of drugs and alcohol knowing that it would react bad even if he didn't take medication AND what excuse would you have to beat someone who is passing by?! So is it not punishable because the person was under chemical effects? It doesn't make sense (Not that Jace was the same. Is a different situation but the chemical effect is the important part).

I have also had the unpleasant experience of being sexually assaulted (I would have been raped if I wasn't lucky...) by a man that I have never seen before (but he did mentioned he saw me in places that I frequented). It was an extremely traumatic event if it wasn't for the support that I received.

After those two horrible situations, I can say that is almost impossible to push someone that is out of their senses. They are stupidly strong in those fucking times!! #－.－)
And if you are paralyzed by fear it will be hard to free yourself, even if it looks like easy for others (of course we don't know if the Duke in this kind of situation, probably not seeing how the plot went)

So all of that being said, the two of them are in the wrong and I won't point my finger to whom was worst or whatever because the actions of both Jace and Duke was kinda disturbing for me.

All we can do is ignore the unpleasant feelings and wait to see how the plot will change or drop out ╮(￣▽￣)╭
